Description

Blackwell Industrial Park houses light and heavy industrial, office, and support commercial uses. The 15 Industrial Park members provide employment to nearly 800 Blackwell--and surrounding area--residents. The Park also offers greenspace and landscaping.Consisting of over 300 acres, the Blackwell Industrial Park (29 KB) houses light and heavy industrial, office, and support commercial uses.  Located next to State Highway 11 and two miles from Interstate 35, (30 KB), the park is certified and offers four-lane access. Currently, there are 100 acres of competitively priced prime industrial sites (79 KB) available. A total of 15 Industrial Park partner businesses offer employment to nearly 800 Blackwell--and surrounding-area--residents. With a developmental vision in mind, the Industrial Park's trustees have devised a management plan to ensure a good investment for businesses locating there. Key site features of the park include:

Oklahoma School Property Land

In addition, a 640-acre tract of Oklahoma School Land is immediately north of the Industrial Park (79 KB) across State Highway 11. Leases of this prime industrial property are available for up to 55 years with lease price based on agricultural comparables. 


Privately Owned Industrial Land

Immediately south of the Industrial Park, and bounded on the north by the American Railway Corporation, is 108 acres of privately owned industrial land, (79 KB) which is available for development. All inquiries should be directed to the Blackwell Industrial Authority.

Utilities, Transportation, Telephone

Rail service is provided by the Blackwell & Northern Railway (BNR), which connects with two major railroads--Burlington Northern & Santa Fe (BNSF) and Union Pacific. Electrical power is provided by the City of Blackwell through the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority. The Industrial Park is also served by a 69KV loop, with very dependable service. Natural gas is provided by CenterPoint Energy Arkla, while telephone service for both the community and the Industrial Park is provided by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Fibre optic connections are also available.

Designated Enterprise Zones and Brownfield Status

The City of Blackwell has several designated Enterprise Zones, which allow investment tax credit for certain industries for either job creation or capital improvements. The Blackwell Industrial Park (286 acres) is an Enterprise Zone and also has the classification of a recognized Brownfield site. Additional tax benefits under the State Quality Jobs Program are available to certain types of companies located in the area of the Industrial Park classified as a Brownfield.
