Blackwell’s economic base is made up of three major catagories: Agriculture, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing. Businesses that support these three major components make up a significant part of the area economy.

Blackwell Industrial Park

The Blackwell Industrial Park was established in the 1970s and has further developed over past several years. The park contains over 300 acres of land and buildings, both publicly and privately owned, housing industrial, office and support uses and is the home to 20 different businesses employing over 700 Blackwell and surrounding area residents.

BIA has acquired an additional 160 acres of land adjacent to the park for future development.

The Blackwell Industrial Park is an Enterprise Zone, HUB Zone, and is in a census tract qualified for Federal Investment Tax Credits. Oklahoma Tax Credits are also available for businesses who qualify as a small business by SBA standards and are in certain NAICS codes. Contact BIA for more information on these special programs.
